MEAMCON is all about serving our community. Owners Associations are being increasingly called on to play a significant role in the way we live, learn, work, and play. We believe the community as a whole — with its unique mix of cultural identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, and more — represents the truly physical and cultural reality of today’s world. Since 2011, MEAMCON is the first and currently only conference and exposition aimed directly at Community and Association Managers in the Middle East. Her Excellency Hend Al Marri is appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) the Educational arm of Dubai Land Department part of Dubai Government, starting from October 2018, to build the information hub for the real estate sector and develop future leaders in Real Estate industry through world class education and professional development programs. Since 2007, Her Excellency has been a key person in restructuring and managing the operations at the institute where she also managed key strategic projects at Dubai Land Department and Real Estate Regulatory Agency. Al Marri has overseen the studies and researches initiatives at the Dubai Land Department and received substantial accolades for her highly performance. Her Excellency holds a Bachelor’s degree in MIS from the Higher Colleges Of Technology, UAE. She is also a graduate of Executive MBA from the American University of Sharjah.

Dr Mansoor Habib

Senior Director- Employee Wellness & Happiness, du

Dr Mansoor Habib, family medicine and occupational health consultant, restructured du’s entire wellness department and launched a dedicated executive wellness programme that set wellness KPIs for the company executives. He has made a significant contribution not only at his work but to society at large through his position as the Regional Chair of the International Association of Worksite Health Promotion and as the Chair of the Workplace Wellness Taskforce Group (a Dubai Chamber sustainability initiative). In 2017, Dr Mansoor graduated from two important training programmes organised by the Prime Minister Office. The first one being the UAE government executive leadership programme in collaboration with Oxford University and the second programme was a program on happiness and positivity for the private sector, in partnership with Wharton University.

Kirk Watilo

Executive Director, Community Associations Institute - Middle East

Kirk Watilo is a highly-respected professional who leads multiple fronts at the global Community Associations Institute (CAI). He devotes a significant portion of his time to facilitate courses at CAI and DREI on subjects like finance, communications, governance, developer transition, and best practices. Prior to CAI, Kirk has led management teams for communities with budgets exceeding 85,000,000 USD with thousands of homes and acres. A widely acclaimed subject matter expert of high management, Kirk's UAE experience includes managing Motor City in Dubai and working with a large management firm running their Property Management section. One major focus for Kirk has been to provide leadership and advice to Owners Association elected Boards as the communities begin their self-governance journey, transitioning from developer control. Jeevan J D'Mello

President of the Community Associations Institute - Middle East

With a wide-ranging international career in Architectural Design, Customer Experience, Community Management and International Relations spanning India, the Far East and the Middle East, Jeevan is a veteran in his field. In his 15-year long career with Emaar Properties, he has achieved huge milestones including the management of 5 master planned communities with a portfolio of over 35,000 units including Burj Khalifa. His certifications comprise a massive list of many firsts- first Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) in 2008, first Association Management Specialist (AMS) certified by the US-based Community Association Institute for the region, first international Professional Community Association Managers (PCAM) in 2012 and the first international Large Scale Manager (LSM). In 2011 he received the Institute's 'Rising Star Award' and in 2014 the prestigious 'President's Award' in the USA. Jeevan recently completed serving a 6-year term on the US-based Community Managers International Certification Board but continues to sit on many committees. He now serves as the President of the Community Associations Institute - Middle East.

Mohammad Kaiser Azad

One of the founding members of Community Management, Kaiser has been instrumental in shaping the property landscape developed by Emaar in Dubai and the Middle East. With over 15 years of experience in property and community management, Kaiser's strategic orientation has a proven track record in successful master planning, value chain management, customer experience, digital transformation, cost and service optimization, sustainability, change and crisis management. Kaiser was one of the first CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations), AMS (Association Management Specialist) and PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager) in the region and outside of U.S.A. He is also a faculty member at the Dubai Real Estate Institute, focusing on community management.

Alan Rowlands

General Manager, Three60 Communities

Alan Rowlands is the GM of Three60 Communities, prior to which he has held leadership positions as a qualified Chartered Accountant in the industries of property management, real estate and construction. In his most recent assignment, he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Gulf Harbour Group where he oversaw the development of a major mixed-use resort and residential communities, including a Robert Trent Jones Jnr designed golf course, a 960 Berth Marina, Hotel, Town Centre and a 2400-lot residential sub-division in Auckland, New Zealand. After 9 years as a Chartered Accountant in Public Practice, focusing on Body Corporate (Strata) Management, Alan then owned and operated a real estate business in Auckland for 11 years, specializing in property management and body corporate administration. Living in Dubai since March 2008, Alan has focused specifically on the field of community management, as both an investor in a new management company, and a General Manager in Dubai’s leading community management company.

Ian Harfield hails from the United Kingdom, and has more than 20 years of experience managing and delivering services to commercial, research, healthcare, military, education, residential and industrial properties around the world. Since 2007 as CEO of Cofely Besix Facility Management (CBFM), his primary expertise has been in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the FM business. Having worked and delivered services across a wide variety of locations, business types and various critical environments, he has a compounded and solid understanding of what has to be done to get the service right. With several new contracts in diverse industries including infrastructure, banking, industrial and transportation, CBFM continues to be a leader in the field of FM management, both in the UAE and in Qatar. Thomas Skiba

CEO, Community Associations Institute- USA

Thomas Skiba is a visionary who has provided outstanding leadership and services to CAI’s more than 32,000 members including homeowners, community association volunteer leaders, professional community managers and industry partners. He has led CAI through a comprehensive transformation of its governance, membership structure, branding and technology to make the organisation more responsive to member needs and more flexible in a rapidly changing business environment. Prior to joining CAI, he has had a 17-year long stint with KPMG Consulting where he provided business advisory services to not-for-profit and higher education institutions and government organisations, including the American Cancer Society, Smithsonian Institution, Kennedy Center, American Red Cross, Public Broadcasting Service and National Geographic Society. Tom received his BS and MBA degrees from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Pepe Gutierrez

CEO, Administrapolis

Pepe Gutierrez has been a proper manager since 1983 in Spain and since then has founded three mega-companies called Megafincas, Phconsultas and Administrapolis Peru. Having spent a quarter of a century in the field, Pepe has developed expertise in all areas of Property Management. He chooses to invest his time, experience and knowledge with the next generation of property managers through his commitments as a Professor in Alicante and Burgos University. Pepe is also a CPM - Instructor Faculty of US-based IREM. John Hammersmith

John is the owner and CEO of Hammersmith Management, Inc, based in Denver, Colorado, USA. John’s experience spans the spectrum of needs and problems that confront Community Associations today. Eng. Craig Ross BSc (Hons) MRICS

Partner, Head of Project and Building Consultancy, Cavendish Maxwell

Craig has been advising clients on how to develop and maintain their buildings for over 21 years, 5 of which have been spent in the UAE building an international client base, and leading a variety of project management and building surveying instructions. Formerly the head building surveyor in a UK architectural practice, Craig has a broad range of experience in directing construction teams through designing, procuring, managing and costing new build and alteration works to a consistently high standard. He has a building surveying degree and was awarded the university medal for BSc honours student and the RICS dissertation prize. His experience also covers core building surveying instructions and project based work for high end commercial and domestic buildings, including many Category A / Grade 1 Listed properties and buildings of specific architectural importance and having also worked for NATO, he carries a DV STRAP security clearance.

Nishan Suvarna

Projects Director Blue Stream Environmental Technology LLC

Nishan is a firm believer in the power of urban spaces in today’s communities. He has championed this thought through the team at Bluestream which specializes in waste management, street furniture and play area design. Helping the region’s existing developments such as the Burj Khalifa, City Walk to enhance their urban spaces is his core expertise. His team has also been at the forefront of recycling efforts by various developers. They continue to add value to existing communities across the Middle East by reinventing their public spaces. In the 12-year span that Nishan has been a part of Bluestream, he has significantly contributed in enlarging the company’s footprints to include offices in India and other parts of the GCC. Nishan is a biomedical engineer from Johns Hopkins University with a passion for design.

David Pine-Coffin

National Director, Property & Asset Management Services, JLL

David has 15 years of international experience in property and asset management providing guidance to developers and landlords for large-scale mixed-use developments throughout the MENA region. His experience includes active asset management strategies, leasing strategy advice full budget preparation, property operating plans, fit out guidelines, policy and procedures, FM procurement, full consultancy and advisory services focusing on effective property and asset management and delivery of value-added services to clients. David also works closely on JLL’s sustainability team on strategy and implementation advice to corporate commercial clients. Sam Issa

Managing Director of Realpoint Real Estate Consultancy

Sam is a construction professional with over 15 years of experience in the Real Estate Development and Construction industry. Sam has been based in Dubai for the last 10 years working throughout the Middle East region in a wide range of real estate, construction and management roles. Having successfully led and managed large teams in different roles in the Real Estate industry; Sam co-founded Realpoint in 2008 as the first RICS building inspection/survey company. Realpoint was Initially established to work exclusively with RERA to monitor and audit the construction progress of over 700 Dubai freehold development projects. While working with RERA, Realpoint also developed the RERA Building Completion & Handover Audit which defines the standards by which the common areas of Dubai buildings should be handed over from developers to owner associations and has subsequently audited over 300 developments and handovers.

With 24 years of experience under his belt in the construction, management and building industry Shadi Kuzam has successfully delivered training courses in construction management, project management, facilities management, contracts and claims. Having passed out as a Civil Engineer from AUB, with a M. Sc degree in project management, PMP, PSP, CCP/CCE, CEP, EVP, LEED GA, Kuzam has participated in the management of over 100 projects worldwide. Not only has he founded several companies in Canada and the Gulf but he has also consulted several businesses in the region.

Gagan Seth

A competent professional with cross-functional expertise and vast exposure to multicultural environments across various business segments in different managerial capacity, Gagan Seth has over 14 years of experience in facilities management. As the Vice President of Facilities and Administration for ABN AMRO in 2008, he handled various portfolios, followed by his impeccable work at Dubai Real Estate Corporation where he managed quality assurance, budgets and contracts management. He successfully managed the Leasehold and the Freehold Community in 2011 when he was promoted as the Associate Director of Transition and Owner Association. Waqar Hasan

General Manager, Itihad Community Management

Waqar founded Itihad Community Management in 2010 and has been heading the firm, managing high end commercial and residential buildings. He has been a member of Community Associations Institute (CAI) since 2011, holds CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Association) and AMS (Association Management Specialist) designations. Waqar was a jury member at the first Gulf Real Estate Awards in 2017. He has written several industry-related articles for the company website, as well as Common Ground, CAI’s magazine. Sameer Kulkarni

Sameer Kulkarni has over 17 years of extensive experience in community and master development management across UAE and Canada. Sameer has managed multiple complex mixed-use developments, improving operations that are focused on delivering exceptional customer experience. In the UAE, he has managed a diverse portfolio in his last role at Emaar and currently with Dubai Properties. Sameer’s portfolio at Dubai Properties includes developments such as JBR, the Villa, Mudon, the Executive Towers and Remraam. In his past and current role he manages homeowner relations, property management, service provider management and service fee modeling. Kawther Mohammed Alhamed

Happiness is the basis of Kawther Mohammed Alhamed’s work. She is a force to reckon with. Her remarkable education qualification has given her the ability to glide smoothly through her career. She has been the Special Advisor on HR and Happiness (secondment) at the Federal and Statistics Authority where she was involved in all the HR and Happiness related functions. With the merger of Emirates Competitiveness Council and National Bureau Statistics, this post was created to help the DG with managing HR and Happiness within the entity. Vagelyn Tumbaga Federico

A passionate, energetic and enthusiastic personality with 13 years of extensive UAE experience, Vagelyn is Director of Human Resources of Dusit Thani Dubai, a 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Dubai. Ahmed K. Al Hamdani

Senior Specialist in charge of the Owners Association Section of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA).

Ahmed K. Al Hamdani is the Senior Specialist in charge of the Owners Association Section of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), which is part of the Dubai Land Department. Ahmed Khalil has worked with RERA for the past nine years and together with his colleagues has been instrumental in establishing and implementing the jointly owned property law in Dubai. Ahmed was one of the founders of the Middle East Facilities Management Association (MEFMA), whose primary goal is the development and implementation of universally beneficial standards and practice ideologies in the area of facilities management. He was also the founder of the RERA Service Charge Index. To add to these accolades, Ahmad’s position with RERA is supported by a background in Middle Eastern property. After a short stint as a supervisor at HSBC, Ahmad spent the years between 2002 and 2008 working as a team leader at the Dubai Real Estate Corporation, managing the entire customer service team as well as taking responsibility for employee training.
